The Entrepreneurship Development Cell of Government College for Women was formed in 

2022 as apart of India 2.0 Cell. The Cell was established with a mission to to help the 

aspiring entrepreneurs start and grow their businesses by creating a pathway of various 

opportunities like interactive sessions with professionals, business competitions to increase 

the awareness. This will help foster entrepreneurial thinking, promote business knowledge 

and instill confidence in every students.

Objectives

The main objectives of the cell are as follows

❖ To Inculcate the passion and spirit among students to pursue entrepreneurship. 

❖ To spread the knowledge about entrepreneurship through guest lectures TV & Radio 

Talks, Seminars etc.

❖ Arranging visits to industries for prospective entrepreneurs.

❖ To Motivate students to develop their own start-ups. 

❖ To identify the brightest ideas and giving them one platform and convert them

❖ Guiding and Assisting students on various aspects such as preparing project reports, 

obtaining project approvals, loans and facilities from agencies of support systems 

and information on various technologies.

❖ To organize Entrepreneurship Awareness Camps, Entrepreneurship Development 

Programmes.

❖ Conducting skill development training programmes leading to self/wage 

employment.

❖ Providing students the professional and Industry exposure

Activities

Global Investor Summit 2023 held in Lucknow telecasted for the students of the third semester Economics and students enrolled in Entrepreneurship Development cell. This summit will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, academia, think tanks and leaders from across the world to collectively explore business opportunities and partnerships.

SARAS AJEEVIKA Mela Entrepreneurship Development Cell took a team of 40 students on 5 th Feb 2023 to participate in SARAS AJEEVIKA Mela organized by Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj J and K UT at Aqua complex Crown, Bagh-e-Bahu.The students interacted with the officials and management team of UMEED regarding this initiative of the Government. The team appraised the students regarding the intensification of women Entrepreneurship Movement by providing financial assistance, guarantees, training and other necessary support so that the girls can contribute towards the upliftment of women in the society. The students were accompanied by Dr. Shivani Manchanda convenor ED Cell, Prof Shrotika Rajput, Dr. Ramesh Chander, Prof Jyoti Behal, and Prof. Shivani Salathia

INNOVATION FEST “UDYAMITSAV Entrepreneurship Development Cell took a team of 40 students at IIT Jammu to participate in a " UDYAMITSAV" one day fest on Entrepreneurship on 21 st Jan 2023. The theme of the festival was” celebrating Indian Entrepreneurs”. The aim of the event was to provide a platform to budding entrepreneurs and startups. The highlights of the events included Guest Talk, Pitch Deck Competition, and startup exhibition. The students and the staff participated in the event with great enthusiasm and zeal. The students were accompanied by Dr. Shivani Manchanda convenor ED Cell, Prof Shrotika Rajput, Prof. Shally Kalsi.

Slogan writing Competition A slogan Writing Competition was organized by Entrepreneurship Development Cell on 12 th December 2022 in Maitreyi block, GCW Parade Jammu. The theme of the competition was Start Up India , Stand up India . The competition was open to students of all semesters. The students participated in the event with great enthusiasm. Dr. Shivani Manchanda appraised the students about this campaign started by our worthy Prime Minister. Certificates were distributed to the winners of the event.

Extension Lecture Dr Vipul Chalotra Assistant Professor Department of Commerce GDCUdhampur gave a lecture on “Financial Literacy” on 23 rd November 2022. The students of Sem Vth of GCW Parade and student members of Entrepreneurship Development Cell participated in the event. The resource person highlighted the importance of various instruments of financial market like mutual funds, equities ,bonds and also focused on opening of De mat account to develop an aptitude for future financial growth and security.

One Day Seminar Entrepreneurship Development Cell GCW Parade Ground, Jammu, in collaboration with Himalayan Express (Newspaper and Digital Media Platform) organized one day Seminar onthe topic, “Start Up India” on 31st May 2022, in the College Premises. Mr. Tahir Rufayee was the Key Resource Person. He is associated with three companies and is director with INDOCOM Media Private Ltd, Wanah Organic Food Products Private Ltd. and Bradford Health Care Private Ltd. and Himalyan Express. Other dignitaries who presented their views were Dr. Preeti Kasyap, MD JMD Herbal Extractions, Mr. Rummit Gupta, Founder Edu Hub Group of Institute, MD IDDO Global Private Ltd.
